Achievements:
After a career in radio and television broadcasting in Quebec and
Ontario, Dr. Casavant served as departmental director at the Ontario
Arts Council as well as special advisor to the Ontario government
in the areas of the arts and government relations with Québec and
France. Later as founding director of the Ottawa-Carleton Regional
Palliative Care Unit, has been a Faculty member of one college and
two universities at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He served
on the Board of provincial and national organizations in the arts,
publishing, health and adult education. Dr. Casavant is president
of the International Association for Constructive LivingTM.

Having earned his B.A. in psychology and sociology, a Ph.D. in
psychology with a specialization in organizational development,
Dr. Casavant received post-doctoral training at various Institutes
in Canada, Europe, the U.S. and Japan. He is a certified trainer
of Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), a certified instructor in
Constructive Management, a certified trainer specialist and facilitator.
He completed training in negotiation, mediation and Alternative
Dispute Resolution (ADR) with the University of Windsor Faculty
of Law and completed Professional Certification in Executive Coaching
at Royal Roads University. He is a member of the International Coach
Federation.

Over the years, Richard has written numerous articles for the Art
Magazine, Liaison, Envol, The Canadian Psychiatric Journals and
the Sommelier's Guild.
Dr. Casavant has been invited guest keynote speaker internationally,
including Paris, France; Beijing, China; Fukuoka and Tokyo in Japan.
Personal Stuff:
Singing, guitar and piano improvisations, Richard also participated
in films, hosted radio and television programs (notably with TV
Ontario). He has authored a play produced in Ottawa and Montreal.
An award-winning poet, he has published three books of poetry and
participated in international poetry readings. His work is the subject
of some university courses and literature theses. He is a founding
member of three theatre companies (one amateur, one community an
d one professional and has acted in numerous plays in Ottawa, Montreal
and Toronto. His paintings have been presented in solo exhibitions
in Toronto, Montreal and Ottawa.
A gourmet cook exploring international cuisines, he has earned
professional Certification of Sommelier. Richard teaches and writes
on the world of wines and is a member of different wine organizations.
